Executive summary: More than 500 children's titles from Editora do Brasil converted to fixed-layout EPUB 3 with native Amazon Kindle optimisation, keeping the illustrations visually faithful. Segment: children's and educational publishing.
The challenge
With more than 80 years of history, Editora do Brasil is one of the most respected educational publishers in Brazil. The children's catalogue to be digitized is richly illustrated, and colour, proportion, composition and the relationship between text and image are all essential to the reading experience. None of that can be lost in the move to digital: the EPUB has to respect the original design as fully as the printed book does.
Our approach
Production in fixed-layout EPUB 3 with strict control of palette, typography and element placement, so that the illustrators' original design is reproduced faithfully on tablets and e-readers. Each title then goes through a further optimisation pass for the Kindle ecosystem, ensuring full compatibility and the widest possible distribution through KDP.
Result
More than 500 children's titles digitized, with Editora do Brasil widening its presence on educational platforms and taking part in government digital distribution programmes. The visual identity and the teaching value were preserved in full, and the catalogue was modernised without any editorial rework.
